With over 23 years of experience in the Hearing Health field, Sharon has successfully fitted thousands of hearing impaired clients and trained and educated many new hearing aid specialists. Hearing instrument technology is a rapidly changing field, so Sharon stays current on all the latest developments by subscribing to major industry journals, as well as attending the latest education classes and seminars. As a long-standing member of both the New Jersey Association of Hearing Health Professionals and the International Hearing Society, Sharon has the broad-based experience, the technical expertise, and the caring perspective that people expect from the professionals at Zounds.
Successfully fitting a hearing system is both science and art. It begins with science: audiometric testing to determine the details of a client’s hearing loss, and matching the loss to an appropriate hearing instrument technology. The rest is art: programming and fine-tuning the system to address the client’s unique environmental circumstances and personal preferences. It’s what the British might call “the tricky bit”—and Sharon excels at it. Time and again, she’s seen the faces of hearing impaired clients suddenly broaden into a smile as they again experienced sounds that had been slowly vanishing into an increasingly silent and isolating world. Sharon has witnessed firsthand, and with great personal satisfaction, the amazing and transformative difference that better hearing can make in people’s lives.
