NJAHHP welcomes Dr. Meredith Holcomb to its conference stage to speak about "Cochlear Implants in 2020: Candidacy, Technology, and Outcomes."
Patients with significant hearing loss are at risk for health concerns if the hearing loss is not treated appropriately. Roughly 10% of patients who need cochlear implants actually receive them, which suggests many patients with significant hearing loss are likely struggling with their hearing aids. This session will discuss benefits of better hearing, specifically with cochlear implants. This session will also outline current cochlear implant candidacy and referral considerations. Current bimodal technology will be discussed, and case studies will be used to illustrate benefit of cochlear implants.
